Returning Curses: It’s Biblically forbidden
There are people who practice something known as returning curses. They send back evil curses to the people who originally sent them. I do not support, nor encourage this practice. We are told to bless them who curse us, not to return the evil back to them:
Matthew 5:44, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”
Romans 12:14, “Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.”
Is sending demonic curses back to those people, a blessing? Is that how Jesus told us to treat those who do us wrong?
Matthew 5:38,39,43,44, “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also… Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”
Returning evil for evil may have passed in the Old Testament, but Jesus came to do away with the old law, and bring about a new law, which is to love one another… even those who do us evil!
God’s Word tells us clearly not to take vengeance into our own hands, but to let Him repay those who do us wrong:
Romans 12:19, “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”
If we take matters into our own hands, whether we realize it or not, we are actually not giving place for God to bring wrath, as the above verse states. We need to let God do the judging, and when He does, He’ll do a far better job than we ever could!
1 Thessalonians 5:15, “See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.”
Regardless if somebody has cursed you or not, sending them a curse is wrong, and I believe it can actually open you up to spirits of witchcraft. Sending evil to another person via a curse is witchcraft. Returning a curse is basically having demonic spirits to go back and bring that evil upon that person. Regardless if you’ve dreamed up the curse, or somebody else has, it’s still an evil curse, and by returning that curse, you’re actually having demonic spirits to go back to that person and do that evil unto them.
