Are you wasting the gift of God?
Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit, and received your personal prayer language? If so, how often do you pray in tongues? Paul tells us to build up our most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit:
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
Jude 1:20
Paul also went on to tell us that when we pray in tongues, we are edified. The word edifieth in the verse below actually means to build up or embolden. When we pray in tongues, we are charging ourselves up with the power of the Holy Spirit!
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
1 Corinthians 14:4
If you have your prayer language, but are not using it often, then you are not building yourself up on your most holy faith, nor are you being edified (charged up). Do you feel spiritually dry? Could it be because you’re not being charged up or built up on your most holy faith? Is your spiritual battery being charged up on regular bases, or is it left neglected and dried up?
I encourage you to stir up the gift that God has given you. Do it daily… the more the better! God has given you a gift so that you could USE it, not let it collect dust. God wants you to be blessed by your gift, but you cannot be blessed by something that you fail to make use of.
One day when I was going through some of the worse spiritual warfare that I’ve ever been through, when the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “The only way you’re going to win this battle is by praying in tongues.” You can bet I got serious, and after praying in tongues, it made a HUGE difference for me!
God gives us gifts such as the ability to pray in tongues, as a blessing and tool for us to use, but it is going to do us no good if we fail to put into use the things which God gives us! Let us step forward and put the things that God equips us with into action so that they can bear much fruit!
