A few facts about fear (the devil's kind)
Did you know that fear is actually a form of false security? It feels ‘safer’ to be fearful and dread the worse than to hope for the best in something. We often take on the attitude of “better believe the worse than believe the best and be sorry!” Fear is a consumer… it will consume the resources of the brain. It will keep your mind busy on worrying about something, when you could be using those resources for other, more practical things.
God’s Word tells us that fear brings torment:
1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
Let’s face it, when we are busy worrying about something, we are being tormented inside. This sets even our physical body on edge and can open us up to spirits of infirmity. Fear is not believing God, but rather believing the devil and what “could” happen in your life.
Faith will build you up spiritually, but fear will tear you down spiritually. Why is that? It’s because faith is believing what God can do, but fear is believing what the devil can do.
