What is a conclusion?
A conclusion is something that you believe to be the root of your problem, but it isn’t the real root issue at hand. Conclusions are great at stopping you from digging further to find out what is really wrong. A conclusion in itself, also serves as a solution or an excuse to not go further. It is often accepted as the reason for the problem, when it isn’t really what is causing the ongoing pain.
Let’s say that when you were a child, one or both of your parents abandon you, either emotionally or physically left you. This will create an abandonment issue that often lasts a lifetime because let’s face it, most of the time, people don’t get the help they need, and they go on to live a life of defeat in one or more areas of their life. What is the conclusion here? That your parent(s) abandon you. Why do I call that a conclusion? Because it isn’t what is causing the really deep pain in your heart. What is causing the real pain is a belief buried deep in your heart. This belief usually falls into one of two categories; either something is wrong with you which made you worthy of rejection, or that God has turned His back on you and has rejected you. You see, if you know deep in your heart that you are not rejection-material, nor has God rejected you, the fact that your parent(s) rejected you won’t have even close to the sting that it has. When you believe that you are worthy to be rejected or abandon, that will cause a tremendous amount of pain and suffering in your heart.
You may know in your mind that God loves you and has not rejected you, but if that’s not what feels to be true in your heart, then there’s a heart belief which is causing that emotion of abandonment in your heart. Remember, what you believe in your heart will show itself in your emotions.
So don’t stop at the conclusion which is just serving as a disguise to the real belief that needs to be uprooted from your heart. If this monthly brief has you wanting to know more, be sure to read my teaching titled Holy Spirit Counseling. It is a much deeper teaching on how God wants to uproot the real cause of our emotional pain by speaking to us about our heart beliefs that were caused by the wounds of the past.
Blessings in Christ,
